The retail price of RON97 petrol will be higher by 37 sen per litre to RM4.70 per litre, while the price of RON95 petrol and diesel remain unchanged for the week from May 26 to June 1.

Enforcing compliance with the retail price of petrol and diesel is more effective based on the ontrol of Supplies Act 1961.

The prices of RON95 and RON97 petrol will increase by seven sen each to RM1.38 per litre and RM1.68 per litre respectively for the period May 23 to 29.

Fuel prices will go up by 1 sen across the board from midnight.

Petrol prices for the week beginning September 28 will see a drop of three sen, while diesel prices will go up by two sen.

The weekly retail price of fuel for the second week of September will be slightly more expensive across the board.

There will be no change in petrol prices for the last week of August while the price of diesel will go down.

Up by six sen, RON95 will be priced at RM2.03, while RON97 goes up three sen to RM 2.28.

Some consumers claim that the petrol stations that they frequent closed early and opened at 12 midnight with the new petrol prices.

Petrol price might be further liberalised in the future, said Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin.
